12 months of 2019 at a glance
Does anyone else feel like last year went by in a flash. We know we here at The Write Impression do, so here is a glance back over the 12 months and some of our favourite blogs for 2019.
We kicked off with sponsoring COLBEA and the fabulous work they do within business in Colchester and the surrounding areas, and then wrapped up January with how to write an Oscar-worthy winning award submission which was a phenomenal read!
The month of love (February for all the non-romantics amongst us) was all about top tips and marketing tools and the colong ride home charity bike ride undertaken by the amazing Guy Clubb, Managing Director of GCD in aid of Bowel Cancer.
We marched proudly into spring talking about Corporate Responsibilities and the importance of a great CRS and then gorged on Easter Eggs of a different kind with our Virtual Easter Egg Hunt. We then looked at The Rise of Voice Search Technology and the effect this has on the SEO.
May bought us topics including Your phone is listening to you and we have proof and was topped off with our very own Janice Walker taking not 1, but 28 for the Team! Raising funds for the Teenage Cancer Trust.
Take a breather – We are half-way through 2019 and still have tonnes to look back over, in what was, now we glance back over our shoulder, a truly amazing year for us!
The talented and fun-loving Ella took on the National Three Peaks Challenge over the summer and we all got totally engrossed in Stranger Things 3 and how it was more of a sponsored thing. We got all up close and personal with LinkedIn and how to optimise posts for it’s new algorithm because as we say time and time again, CONTENT IS KING, which is handy because we also looked at the Social Conundrum of how much time people in 2019 spent on Social Media.
As the sun set on the warmer months we waved a sad goodbye to Becca who left the TWI team to travel through Dubai, Bali, Asia and Australia, but before she left on a jet plane, she cleared up one important PR & Marketing question: When should you be posting on Social Media.
Autumn was upon us, and our charismatic leader Kate Everett joined the Colchester Business Enterprise Agency Board as a non-executive director, after a long period as a trainer and associate. WELL DONE KATE! Not only that but Account Manager Andrew Butcher won the Mistley Cricket Club Captain’s award for contribution to the club for his work off the field. It was a season for wins and Andrew was bowled over by this award win. Now we know that it’s very poor form to mention the ‘C’ word prior to December, but to ensure all is well before the big fat man arrives, we in Marketing have a lot to prepare for and nothing is more important than a well thought out Christmas Campaign (filthy minds some of you, honestly) It’s never too early to prep for Christmas!
The winter showed us the importance of having an SSL certificate for your website which to the layman is a Secure Socket Layer, as well as delving into the question of whether hiding Instagram likes help our social-centred society and even Piers Morgan was getting upset about this one. And there was also the debate on easy wins vs false wins and your guide to making real SEO gains. But no Festive Season would be complete without a mention of everyone’s favourite extra-terrestrial ET, in addition to some of 2019’s other highs and lows with our pick of the highlights, headlines and heartaches.
